Welcome to Nuriootpa Town Band's web site. Nuriootpa Town Band was formed in 1880 as a brass band. In September of 2007 it became a concert band with members from across the Barossa and Light regions.

History of the band









The band was formed in 1880, with eleven members. By 1915 there were 30 players. The band went into recess between 1924 and 1930. In September of 2007, the band introduced woodwind instruments to become a concert band. There are curently about 50 players names on the register.

The original band rotunda was built in 1935 and included a practice room under the rotunda as shown below.








A new band hall of 9 sides was built over the original music room and opened in 1980.










The band hall is situated on the corner of Old Kapunda Rd and Murray St. Nuriootpa.
